Calvia Low Down

This area we like to call our speciality. We love the beaches, the way it stays busy all year around, the beautiful marinas and ports, the amazing selection of restaurants, the nightlife and not forgetting the variety of things to do.

Santa Ponsa is where we are based, this may be due to the fact that Santa Ponsa has more sunny days than other area. We also have a selection of amazing restaurants, cafes & supermarkets, aswell as two beautiful beaches. Santa Ponsa has three fantastic golf courses so is the ideal area for golf lovers. You are also within a 5 minute drive to the new “Port Adriano” designed by: Philippe Starck and known as the super yacht harbour, & 10 minutes from the famous “Portals Nous”. They also hold annual Christmas markets, which people get together from all over the island for.

Costa de la Calma is just a 5-7 minute walk from Santa Ponsa, it has a few very popular “chiringuitos” (beach bars where they do the most amazing mojitos) and some beautiful hidden beaches .

Portals is loved by the rich and famous. It has the village, which is very residential, with a few shops, offices and nice cafes. Then you have the port (has recently celebrated it’s 30th anniversary), which is the perfect size, as you have the perfect selection of amazing restaurants, bars and glamorous shops, but you can also walk the whole way around without feeling tired, which means you can take your time to appreciate just how beautiful it really is. Portals also hosts annual Christmas fairs which are pretty impressive

Port Adriano is the new port located in the “El Toro” area.  Again, you can enjoy some amazing food while overlooking the beautiful port itself, whilst admiring the very luxurious yachts.

Son Ferrer is a very residential area inbetween El Toro and the Palmanova area. It has a football pitch, a golf course and a community pool.

Costa d’en Blanes:  Located inbetween Portals and Palmanova, this is also a residential area where you can find some truly beautiful villas with some great sea views.

Bendinat: Quite a residential area, with a great public school . You can find some really great villas and communities here some of which have some fantastic sea views.

Palmanova: Is a very popular touristic destination thanks to it’s beautiful beaches & beachfront.

Magaluf: Is also a very popular touristic destination, even so, it has some of the cleanest beaches on the island. If you are into the party scene, than this is a great area for you and if not, you can stay on the outskirts, so still enjoying the beautiful place that it is, but still getting that peace and quiet in the evening.

Sol de Mallorca is an outstanding residential development with a few beautiful beaches.

Cala Vinyes: Is located right next to Sol de Mallorca and also has some beautiful beaches that have the most amazing chiringuitos.

Top 3 beaches in the area:

  • Portals Vells: A very hidden beach, inbetween Son Ferrer and Magaluf, that you would never expect to come across. Don’t forget to try their restaurant.
  • Cap Falco: A beautiful, little cove hidden in Sol de Mallorca with one of the best, if not the best chiringuito(beach bar). A hidden gem, only known by the locals.
  • Santa Ponsa: We have to mention this beach as it is our second home during the summer, it offers pedalos, banana boats, kayaking & is surrounded by great places to eat.
