Santa Ponsa 2017, September Festivities Rey Jaume 2017

See the full time table and agenda brochure for Fiesta Rey Jaume Santa Ponsa 2107 here

The summer just seems to be flying by and we can’t quite believe that September is on the horizon already, however for us that means one thing and one thing only: The annual Santa Ponsa, September festivals and here is what to expect:

-Parades galore.

  • Correfocs (basically translated to running with fire)

  • Markets

  • & most importantly on the tenth of September, there will be a re-enactment of the battle between the moors and Christians, taking place on Santa Ponsa’s little and big beach.

We spoke at the beginning of the summer about “el Rocio” which are the festivals that mark the start of the summer and it is fair to say that these September festivities are basically a very happy & traditional way of waving it goodbye.

El Rocio 2017, Santa Ponsa.

For anyone who lives in Mallorca or even visits frequently don’t you just agree that this weekend’s festivals just shout out “summer has arrived”??? We are happy to announce that the start of Summer is here and it’s all thanks to the “Rocio” festivals taking place in Santa Ponsa tonight (09/06/17) and carrying on all weekend.

With stalls running from the start of the beach all the way to the other end (open most of the day),  a huge selection of attractions and plenty of food & drink, there really is something for everyone.

For us the nicest part, is just how much everyone gets involved and how people travel from all over the island just to join in. We would highly suggest coming along and celebrating the “first” day of summer with us.

Tom Jones & George Benson Mallora 2017

YES the rumours are true… Tom Jones is coming to Mallorca this summer and will be performing on the 20th of July @ Port Adriano & we couldn’t be anymore excited even if we tried!!!! Oh and just to make things better, 5 days later we will joined by the amazing George Benson. (25th of July)

And to book tickets all you need to do is click the following link:

We’ll see you there.

Upcoming Additions To Santa Ponsa

Just incase you didn’t know it already, we are Santa Ponsa’s number one fans so of course we keep up to date with all the new additions and happenings in the area. Today we thought we would let you all in on a couple of recent changes to the area, just five more reasons why you should love Santa Ponsa too:

1- New hotel: If you pass along the beach front you can see they are currently working on a brand new hotel. The ideal spot for a brand new four star hotel. Rather exciting huh?

2- Casa Vida Apartments/Hotel: They are supposed to be investing around three million euros to this building, adding up to fifty rooms. Then in 2018 it will be converted into the “senses” hotel.

3- Promenade: We have to admit it, the promenade leading from the “Empatheia” restaurant all the way along to Costa de la Calma, along the coastline, has always been a bit of trek so when we found out that they are planning on putting a flat promenade all the way along, we couldn’t quite contain our excitement.

4- Healthy Santa Ponsa: We don’t know about you, but we are still managing to keep up with our healthy eating and the new “Be Green” healthy café has made that so much easier. Producing not only healthy but delicious snacks/ lunch options/ soups/ smoothies & juices all day long.

These are only a few of our favourite, recent changes but there are new places opening constantly and now with us just a few months away from summer, we can already notice the amount of people arriving and every day something new is getting ready to open. Summer 2017, we think you are going to be a good one!!

Luxury shopping in Mallorca

So ladies, we all know that most of us women just can’t resist a designer handbag, it’s our guilty pleasure! So it’s fantastic news that Mallorca offers such a great range of shops selling many of our favourite brands.

Palma, such a beautiful place to go and also a great place to shop offers many expensive labels including Louis Vuitton, Mulberry, Yves Saint Laurent, Chloe, Valentino… These are just some of the great names you can acquire in our capital.

The Louis Vuitton shop located on Passeig des Born offers a great service and a great selection. I mean who can turn down a glass of champers on arrival?

Corner shop is located very near to Bar Bosch and it is here where you can find many of the world’s best brands including YSL, Valentino, Chloe, Gucci, Céline…etc. We really do recommend popping in!

Puerto Portals which is located in the Calvia area also offers some fantastic shops. Corner shop can also be found here, who can deny trying out a handbag while staring out of the window to the beautiful super yachts, it really is a hard life!

More affordable brands can also be found in Palma in our fantastic department stores ‘El Corte Ingles’. One on the Avenidas and the other on Avinguda Jaume III. Brands include Michael Kors, Longchamp, Tous, Ralph Lauren… etc.

Now all that said, it’s time to get shopping! Have fun.
